Overview 

  • Global hose and fitting company, Hydroscand, required improvements to its supply and inspection processes.

Problem  

Global hose and fittings company, Hydroscand, was looking to modernize its systems and documentation. The company relied heavily on manual processes including paperwork and Excel sheets for hose asset management. This was found to be time consuming, to prevent effective collaboration, and to leave space for human errors. 

To develop a better customer offering and to improve internal processes, Hydroscand began looking for a digital solution for hose asset management. The company did not have the time or the budget to develop its own solution.  
 

Solution  

Hydroscand identified Onix as having the right tools to improve documentation for both its hose supply and inspection business. With an open equipment compliance management system (ECMS) that allows all stakeholders in the equipment value chain to collaborate and share information, Onix provided a strong foundation for complete hose asset management.  

For hose supply  

Hydroscand began implementing Onix as a complete supplier tool that manages orders from receipt to delivery.  

With Onix Pick & Pack and Onix Express alongside Onix Work, equipment suppliers can simplify order management through digital processes that ensure accuracy. Orders can be numbered and processed at scale, while Onix Tags can be added for improved identification and tracking. Onix Tags are QR, RFID or NFC tags that can be fixed to equipment for instant information and documentation through Onix Work when scanned.  

When equipment is ready to be delivered, documentation is either delivered to customers automatically through their Onix accounts, or as a portal or email attachment through Onix Express.  

For hose inspection  

For its inspection business, Hydroscand began rolling out Onix Inspect. With this tool, inspectors can complete work onsite digitally using editable checklists. When back online, data is automatically uploaded, and reports/documentation can be generated for simple and fast sharing with customers.  

With Onix Inspect, inspection businesses can save time, improve the quality of documentation and exceed customer expectation on turnaround and quality. 


Result  

With Onix, Hydroscand has begun a full digitalization of its hose asset management that covers its supply and inspection business.  

Documentation can be hosted in one system that is open to all required stakeholders. This saves time, reduces complexity and provides a whole new offering to Hydroscand customers.  

Hydroscand is now further developing its use of Onix across the business. The company plans to expand equipment tagging and provide wider tools for its customers.
